About the game

Iron Defense is a one-screen shooter set in a scrapyard. A turret sits on top of a wall, and robots made of junk march in from the right, wave after wave. Wipe out every wave before the wall gives way.

Between stages, you trade the gold and crystals you salvaged for stronger gear: a better gun, a tougher wall, a floor that zaps whatever walks over it, and pylons that shoot on their own. Fire, ice and lightning abilities add burst damage when a crowd gets close. The campaign runs 100 stages with bosses, and endless stages open after stage 100.

How to play

• Press and keep pressing anywhere on the field, with the mouse or a fingertip, and the turret keeps shooting.
• Pull the fire, ice or lightning button out onto the field and let go to cast it. Let go back on the button to call it off.
• Abilities drain energy, which slowly comes back by itself. The + button tops it up for crystals.
• Use the UPGRADES screen between stages to spend your gold and crystals.
