About the game

Chess Online Multiplayer is free chess you can start right away, with no registration. Pick your opponent: the computer at one of 21 difficulty levels from Beginner to World Champion, other players online, or a friend on the same screen. You can also set a handicap and turn on interactive hints.

Each game follows classic chess rules, and the goal is to checkmate the opponent's king. Choose a pace like Unlimited, Bullet, Blitz, Rapid or Classic. Highlight possible moves, undo a slip, then check the analysis after the match to see mistakes and better moves.

How to play

• Click a piece, then click the square you want to move it to. Pawns go forward and capture diagonally; knights move in an L shape.
• Before a game, choose the opponent, the difficulty level, and the time control.
• Use the hints to see possible moves and the undo button if you slip.
• Win by checkmating the opponent's king. A stalemate, three-fold repetition, 50 moves without a capture or pawn move, or not enough material to checkmate ends in a draw.
