About the game

Stampede Evolution begins in a camp where you stroll around to level up and evolve, starting as a squirrel and working toward a lion. Once you are bigger, the herd heads out across hand-built landscapes: spring flowers, autumn woods, rainy marshes, icy rivers and forests after dark.

Predators chase the herd, and your animals toss food at them automatically, so your attention goes to steering and jumping. Green gates add animals, red ones cost you, and blue boards hand out an upgrade. Bosses wait on some levels, and each level can pay out three stars. Stampede mode is separate: an endless auto-run that speeds up the longer you last.

How to play

• On a computer, steer with W A S D, the arrow keys, or by dragging with the left mouse button. Press Space or right-click to jump, and P to pause.
• On a phone, your left thumb is the joystick. Tap JUMP, or anywhere on the right side of the screen, to leap.
• Run through green gates to add animals, dodge red ones, and touch blue boards to choose an upgrade.
• Cross the finish arch with as big a herd as you can. In Stampede the herd runs forward by itself, so your job is to dodge walls and water.
